Dead space salvage final?

I enjoyed the book for its great story telling and its developing of characters. Though the setting/ story were kinda vague it did tell a good story with the characters in the book. I feel that the author of this book isn't trying to get anything across the reader other to be shocked. But I think this book is symbolic in a way. Because of how the characters are separated almost definitely into classes and how there's a psychotic religion that most likely raises the dead. I'll try to find more to back this up.

Dead Space Salvage

For this bog post I will be focusing on the main protagonist and the main antagonists in the story so a lot of the other characters will be left out. So our story begins with one of the protagonist turned antagonist Captain Benedykt Malyech of the black beak having a freakish nightmare, he is later woken up by his second in command Julia Copland. Then we are introduced to our true protagonist Stefan Schneider who is the second in command of Captain Jessica Li of the hunters moon. we can tell from both of these introductions that both Magpie crews both want the same thing; resources such as vanadium, platinum, etc. but they mention they are salvaging these elements under the governments nose so with that we are also introduced to our main antagonist Defense Secretary David Chang who is on a mission to find a missing ship known as the Ishimura for a great sum of money from the government. I personally think the author does a great job of developing these characters with their actions and somewhat their appearance. The Magpie crews look somewhat young but with the ragged futuristic clothing that anyone who would be doing illegal mining in space would wear. But the antagonist is a bit aging probably in his late 50's and has what looks to be very expensive government clothing and is very aggressive in the story. I'm guessing this set up of characters could very well symbolize something which I will try to find out soon.

1984 final

Diving into the book again after a while I still enjoyed this book. Though it isn't my favorite book to read, the author however doesn't cease to amaze me. I feel that his ideas have inspired a lot of the technology we have today like tv's, surveillance cameras, etc. Also I feel like he has written us a warning in 1984 as well. In today's society I feel that while we as humans are very intelligent, we are developing technology like computers and A.I. systems that are evolving in intelligence at a faster rate than humankind. I think George Orwell has warned us or at least he predicted in the book that technology is or will be growing at an alarming rate in the future so much that human kind would be drones to this technology and worship it as a god almost because of it's intelligence. That's why I feel George Orwell is an astonishing author.
