Personality: a very caring loving girl.
She is the main character in the book, and from the very beginning she is very defiant and rebellious in a country almost controlled by religion. Her purpose in the book is to defy anyone or anything thing that try's to change or criticize her.

3. Why did Marjane's parents decide to send her to Europe. Do you think this was the right decision? Why or why not?

I think it was the right decision for them to send Marjane to Europe because they don't want her to experience any more violence and death by living in Iran during these hard times. Plus all the times that the family nearly got bombed. They want their child to grow in a better environment and that's why they sent her to Europe for a better life. If I lived in a country where war and bombings were happening daily I would give anything to get my children out of the states.
