One of the most meanigfull thing I have done in the semester was the alchemist respose project because I could draw and get my point across.
The most challenging part of ELA was definatly the other response projects because I was never able to do the work on my own.
I would like to see change in response projects because I feel that theres not enough verity in the options we have.

odyssey

I think in books 22-24 some violence was acceptable and some was not at all needed. For example when the suiters wronged odysseus's family and nearly took over he took action to protect his family. But when he was finished slaughtering the suiters and saw that the maids did nothing to help he hung them, I feel that his actions towards the maids was unnecessary because as maids their job was to serve the owners of the home and they all assumed that odysseus was dead because he's been gone for 20 years, and with that said the maids nor did the suiters know that odysseus lived. Now this leaves me to question is odysseus really a hero? Because judging by his actions with the maids and a part of the battle of troy when he built the wooden horse and killed the soldiers in their sleep which was kind of cowardly, but judging by his actions he's not really a hero because of all of the little things he has done to benefit one or two people and hanging the innocent maids.

The odyssey

In the book when Odysseus outsmarted the Trojan army with the old wooden horse trick the gods questioned their own safety, they questioned if Odysseus could ever outsmart a god? But did this actually happen in this order? In the manny version of the odyssey on the interwebs  I read compared to the version that we have almost all of them were different which leaves me questioning is there actually a homer? Usually when we read story's and we look at different versions of that story nothing is different about the order in which things happen they just put a different cover on it. But that's not the case with the odyssey, it's order is scrambled within each different copy of the odyssey.

Odyssey

Ever since the disruption of the trade in the eastern mediterranean the mycenaeans were unable to read or write. The reason being for this interruption of trade was assumed to be the peasants upriseing against the mycenaeans leaders and causing their great temples to fall. But I think when the odyssey was written it gave the mycenaeans a chance to rebuild what was lost during the big kerfuffle. So when they wrote the odyssey it was crucial to write it because it was their new language. Maybe thats why odysseus is a hero not just in the book but in reality too, because if you think about it the book was their new language it gave the mycenaeans a fresh start for what was lost.

The Odyssey Introduction Reflection
In the parts of the introduction I read it didn't give a specific bio on Odysseus or why he's important or the things he did that made him so well known. Maybe it's just me or what they're trying to do is give little hints of whats going to happen in the story.

alchemist

what i found so interresting is that the book is about pursuing what your heart desiers and developing a dialogue between your self and your heart. a lot of the time we get really confused with our desiers because our desires are often conflicting, we all have a reason for living but somtimes our heart will say  this is so complex maybe i should just give up on that dream. so basically to comunicate with youre heart in a way you've never done before.

i think the personal legend is important for the rest of the story because it describes who the main character's personality and determine where he's going in life. like for example when the main character  encountered the old man melchizedek he mentions that the personal legend was not important to the old man and if the main character was narcissistic he wouldn't get very far in the story and meet a painful demise.
